3 days in the Merzouga desert
We drive out of Marrakesh and cross the Atlas mountains. Its an amazing view with a landscape that changes constantly with its colours, Kasbah, rocks, trees, people and climate. We will stop for lunch in Ouarzazate "the Hollywood city" where "Prince of Persia" has been filmed. Today we'll spend the night in a traditional hotel in the Daddes valley or known as "the monkey's feet". The next day we are heading to the Merzouga which is part of the Sahara desert. On the way we will visit an Oasis near a canyon called Toudra with spring water. Its a famous rock climbing spot. At the end of the day we jump on a camel to cross the big sand dunes and spend the night in a touareg camp with "Tajine", music and beautiful stars. Waking up with the sunrise we climb back on our camel and walk back to a hotel where we can take a shower and breakfast. After the refreshment we drive back to Marrakesh. On the way we will stop for lunch at Ait Benhaddou's Kasbah. Some people might heard about it from the movie "Gladiator".
Marrakesh is famous for its kasbah, colors and strong smell of spices. The square bustles with acrobats, story-tellers, water sellers, dancers, dentists, cobras and musicians. But the most exciting part is the "souks". Its a market where you can spend the all day. Some people got lost for 3 hours. But we will take you to historical monuments, museum, gardens and give you the local taste!
This a short cultural day out in the Ourika valley. Only 30 min drive out of Marrakesh and your in the "Alpes". We will visit a berber house where mama Fatima is welcoming us with open arms, mint tea, home made bread, honey and oil. After that we do a short camel ride before walking up to a waterfall. Then we'll have lunch "tajine" with our feet in the water by the river. Its a nice to get away from the city to cool down a bit.
