10 days of adventure: on a camel in the desert
Day1 : Meeting point at the airport of Marrakech. We will organize the transfer to your hotel. Only 15min drive to the old town ”Medina”. Depending on the arrival time we may have the opportunity to organize a private city sightseeing tour. After a welcoming mint tea we head outside to discover the night life at the Jamaa El fna Plaza and try the fantastic local freshly cooked food.
Day2: Departure from the hotel at 7 a.m. We will drive to M’ Hamid by mini bus. Along the way we will cross the valley of the Draa River with palm trees and old Kasbahs and stop for lunch at Agdaz or Zagora. Finally our first night in a berber tent will be in Oulad Driss. The locals will prepare a “Tajine” and mint tea for us. 3th day: After breakfast we start our journey into the Sahara desert by camel. We will stop for a lunch break. In the afternoon we continue our trip to Sidi Naji where we will spend the night. 4th day: Our adventure on camels continues. After lunch we will set up our camp at the bottom of a stunning sand dune in the Erg Zehhar area. Dinner will be served under the stars. 5th day: Today we will cross a stone desert called “Hammada”. In the afternoon we will take a break at the Oasis Sacrée. Lunch will be served in a small bivouac near a nomadic well. Around 3 pm we will arrive at the dunes of Chegaga. We will stay in a permanent bivouac with showers and toilets. Dinner will be served with entertainment. 6th day: The saga continues. Overnight at the Oued Laatach. 7th day: Our last night in the desert. We will set up our camp at the bottom of Erg Lihodi dune. 8th day: Our last day on camels. Back to the first camp in Oulad Driss. 9th day: After breakfast we say goodbye to our friends and drive back to Marrakech by mini bus. On the way we will have lunch in Ouarzazat, where movies like “the Gladiator” or “Prince of Persia” have been filmed. Tonight you will appreciate your hotel. Day10: Fly back home. |
